Kurzfilmfestival Köln – KFFK
Kurzfilmfestival Köln – KFFK | Short Film Festival Cologne
Function: German Competition selection committee, festival team, curation of special programs, event and program management
The KFFK / Kurzfilmfestival Köln (formerly European Short Film Festival Cologne UNLIMITED) is a short film festival lasting several days, which has been held in Cologne every November since 2006.
The German Competition forms the core of the festival programme. Five thematically structured programmes will feature the film selected by the German Competition selection committee chosen from the over 700 entries (as of 2017). In addition to three jury prizes, an audience prize is also awarded. International short films are also featured in the special programme Country Focus.
In the program „Kölner Fenster“, two blocks of short films from the Cologne Film Schools and independent productions from the city are presented. Other special programmes of the festival are the festival focus, the New Aesthetic series, which began in 2013 and focuses on life in the digital age, presenting internet and web-based films. In cooperation with the Cologne children’s film festival „Cinepänz“, the festival also shows two children’s programmes and offers film workshops for children.
The additional supporting programme includes talk and forum events where the festival audience can exchange ideas with the filmmakers.
